2. I think the most important scrapbook is a Heritage Scrapbook. This is pictures and journaling about your family ancestors. And now when you have parents and grandparents, is the time to get the information - where they met their spouse, date and place of marriage, where they lived as children, where they went to school. What dream did they have that was fulfilled, and what ones were not = You have know idea how important this information will be one day. Ask if you could make copies of their original pictures. Be sure to ask their parents name, where and when they were born. Nothing pleases a grandparent more than some to be interested in their stories. Write write write - keep accurate notes - what a beautiful family treasure you will have when done. Don't regret not having asked the questions when you could have. Good Luck - I bet your going to learn some funny, and entertaining stories about your family. Scrapbook.com is an excellent site for quotes and layouts, I'm sure you will see many pages that you can recreate.
3. The year idea is a good one. I suggest the scrapbook pages that you can find that have months as your header page for the section. Or there are even word "month" stickers with corrisponding picture stickers. I made a scrapbook (babybook) for my little girl. However I was not introduce to scrapbooking until after I had taken most of the photos. So I organized my book based off of where we lived. Hope you have fun.
4. You can put before and after pics of home improvements.
I put my county fair ribbons, our cow awards, family and friends.
I'm going to make a book; each page will reflect a different song; such as He's not heavy, he's my brother. You are my sunshine. We are family. And they called it puppy love.
5. These ladies all have great ideas, most importantly scrapbooking is to record what is happening in your life through your eyes. The journaling is the most forgotten but essential part. You won't believe how much you forget over even a short period of time. Not long ago I saw a little kid unroll an entire roll of saran wrap, much to the dismay of his mother. It immediately reminded me of that same thing my 17 year old daughter did when she was a toddler in the dark one night just after we had went to bed. I hadn't thought about since it happened. I was so elated that I had to go right up to my scrapbook room and write down the story to add to my scrapbook. Thing was I would have never believed I would have forgotten that funny story, but that is what happens when you are busy living life!
