1. You'll want an empty hard-bound book, double-sided tape, and anything you would like to use to make your book look colorful to your tastes. It can be anything from colorful paper cut by craft shears to stickers specifically made for scrapbooking.

2. Yes, you need a nice album, some double sided tape and some papers/embellishments/ribbons etc and of course, your photos!

Tools that scrappers usually use are paper trimmers (a long one to take 12" x 12" papers is the most versatile), a pair of good paper scissors/snips, and a self-healing cutting mat. I would add that a good journaling pen is also essential because it is the story that you tell alongside the photo that interests me as much as the photo does :)

I would make sure that all materials used on or near my photos was photo safe. Otherwise the photos an change colour and deteriorate fairly quickly over the years. If you want your albums to last, choose acid free, lignin free and buffered products from scrapbooking and craft stores. Here's some more information about that:

Enjoy your new hobby!

3. The best thing to do is to go to one of the websites that sell scrapbooking materials. There are so many items available that it is hard to tell you what you need. The basics obviously are an album and pictures and some type of adhesive the rest is based on what you want to put on the page. There area number of websites that I use such as:

http://www.scrapbooking-warehouse.com/

These are only a few.........there are many of them. You can also find tutorial videos on Youtube by typing in the search window...........scrapbooking. Have fun..........I absolutely live for scrapping and card making.

4. A good paper trimmer. look at Fiskar brand.
small sharp pair of scissors. I love Cutterbee (they are black and yellow)
two way tape runner. best way to adhear your photos and paper. I use Xyron too. but this is an investment.
Cardstock. don't buy too much pattern paper.
Zig pen- at least get black. for journaling

that is the basics. You can add stickers, chip board, embellishments.

go to your public library. there should be plenty of books on scrapbooking. also check out the magazines. My library has 3 different ones on scrapbooking and you should be able to check out old isssues
