How do I get some scrapbooking done with no space?

I am living in a hospital room for weeks at a time. To keep myself occupied, I'd like to do a little scrapbooking, but always overdo it by bringing too much supplies. I ofton forget crucial items like the pictures!

Public Comments

1. Just bring a big tub of stuff and then leave it there.

2. Try digital scrapbooking at CropMom (http://www.cropmom.com). All you need is a computer connected to the Internet and your photos put on your hard drive.

3. Sorry to hear you have to spend so much time in the hospital, but good for you wanting to craft while you are there!

Maybe you could make smaller items in the hospital, like tags or cards or even a decorated journal? Put together a bot of a 'kit' for your project before you go and have a good think about what you would use to finish assembling it. If you don't have a crop box, buy a new pizza box to pack your supplies into and then the lid could also be a workspace for you.

I am a stamper as well so I find taking some stamped images to colour or paint the way I want them to be is a smallish project as all you need are the images and some markers etc. You can pre-stamp your images onto A4 cardstock before you have to go to the hospital and then finish them there.

You could make felt embellishments in the hospital to have ready for your pages when you come out. You may only need scissors, needle and thread, felt and glue....

I hope you can solve the problem and have a crafty time while you are in the hospital!

4. Get a iris storage bin. They are big enough for 12x12 paper. This is like going to a crop. If you can organize yourself at home first? Start with the photos you want to scrap.lol then add the cardstock and paper then the embellishments. Use your hospital time to put the layout together and to journal the page. You can really get a lot done. but the only draw back is it takes a lot of time to pre plan this out.

5. Heyy,

You poor thing!!! Why are you in hospital? Well, what i do is i get a box and keep all my stuff in it. I also have a smaller box that has all my embellishments in it for safe keeping. Take it to the hospital and leave it there. If you can sit on the floor, do it there. Otherwise grab the stuff you need from the box and put it back when you are finished. I am a fellow scrapbooker myself.

Add me and ill keep you updated with good ideas if you want.

Good luck :D

6. Well, try doing one specific project at a time. For example, if you know you're going to be making several pages in a scrapbook of your trip to the beach, you can narrow down what you'd like to bring fairly easily. If you're worried that one project won't be enough, you can easily organize several projects and just keep them either in plastic bags or plastic project totes (they make really nice ones at JoAnn crafts meant for making projects portable). This way, you can keep pictures and paper and embellishments all together in one place. It makes leaving off on a project easier, too, because everything you were working on can stay together neatly. Hope that helps and I hope you're doing well! No one likes the hospital. :/
