Scrapbook_Looking for-Personal Journaling machine?
Hello fellow scrapbookers-thanks for looking at my question!
My dad wants to buy my mom the best gift for her birthday and he is running out of time. He is trying to see if there is something like a scrapbook journaling machine... Not so much a labeler but something that she can type a paragraph on it and it prints with the same machine.
Any ideas? THANK YOU!!
That is the whole point, she wants to get away from the computer. Often she go's camping when she scrapbooks. She only has a desktop computer, so is unable to take that with her. Even more so with scrap nights. I personally can't live without computers but she isn't the biggest fan.
Any other ideas? I saw something on a scrapbooking show that looks like what she needs BUT I haven't been able to find out what it is called yet.
Thanks. She already has a cricut but that isn't good for writing a paragraph or 2 in a scrapbook. She can use the computer, she just needs something smaller, portable and would rather have something that is not a regular computer. Thanks for the input.

1. Teach her how to use the computer. You have all you need right here. There are many good programs for editing photos and writing on them then you can print yourself or put on chip and take to the store for printing.
Just an idea.
2. I have been scrapping for years and haven't heard of anything like this. Although I'm sure many would like it.
We all use a computer. Can she use a computer? My library has free classes on how to use Word. There is a ton of software out there with great fonts for scrapbooking.
If she is a big scrapbooker what about a Sizzix machine. JoAnn fabrics and Micheal's carry them. It is a die cutting machine. I like it over all others because it is capable of using other mahcines' die cuts and it can cut through a lot of different materials, like metal, very heavy cardstock and even basal wood.
good luck.
Read your second post. Hmmm a laptop?? I am going to ask my scrapbooking community if they have heard of anything like this.
I have asked all around. And at my online scrapping community. No one has heard of a product anything like this.
3. Check out this web site... It is the closes i could find to a Journaling Machine...Hope this helps.

4. There is a product called the Xyron Design Runner. With the design Runner you can buy cartridges that will go with it that give you fonts, words phrases etc like the Cricut the only difference is with this wonderful tool it is your printer. Now to do what you are wanting to do the Xyron company has an added a machine called the Design Disc Maker and with an empty disc that comes with it you can type whatever you want into the disc maker and it will save to the disc, you insert that disc into the Runner and Voila you have almost like a printer wherever you go! And if you already have a few of the discs with fonts on them you can pick many different fonts to choose from. This product is available in most craft stores. (Michael's, A.C. Moore, Jo-Ann's) But if you want some more info on it you can go to www.xyron.com and that will give you any questions you have about the product. Just one other tip, I bought mine from the Home Shopping Network and you may laugh but I got a lot more buying it from HSN than I would have at the big craft stores even with a 40% off coupon because they have bundles packs. With the runner you will most likely get two font discs. SAnd they have online demos to show you how to use it which really helped me in getting started. It's about $100 for the Design Runner and about $90 for the Disc maker the discs depending on where you buy them are anywhere between $25-$35 each but have at least 40-50 different sayings. For me this tool was totally worth the money!!! I have bought quite a few items from this company and they make really great products. And unlike the Cricut they don't have their stuff way overpriced! I hope this helps feel free and e mail me with any other questions you might have.

5. Ive never heard anything like that. There are machines where you can do a phrase or a sentence or two, but not a whole paragraph. A good alterative would be to get her journaling pens. She could write out everything.
Also, the above user mentioned the Xyron Design Runner. I have that and I love it. You can't do a whole paragraph, but you can do phrases and sentences. Its alot of fun to use. There are two parts to the machine. Some places sell them together, others sell them seperately. I got mine at qvc.com. I payed $143.00 for mine. It all came together with a ink catrridge, a starter disc, and a blank disc. The starter disc comes with phrases and picture and borders already loaded on it, The blank disc allows you to make your own phrases. They also sell themed discs, like greetings, romance, baby, calender, and several more. They sell 3 colors of catridges, red, green, and black. Its a great machine to have and i love mine! I would reccomend this for your mom.
