2. For your scrapbooking, you could try out Smilebox. It's more like a slideshow than a scrapbook, but it's basically the same idea. Mashable has an article on scrapbooking sites, too (link on source). You could also go really simple and just use Flickr.
For your journaling, it's sounds like what you need is a blog. The best blogging service I've ever used is WordPress--there's an option to make it private, and use can have WordPress host it (wordpress.com) or host it yourself (wordpress.org). For a simpler option, Google's site, Blogger, is fine too.
